Re-Volt Wiki or RRR Wiki?[]

notice to editors: This wiki is powered by RRR, which makes it Re-Volt "RRR" The wiki. It doesn't give stable informations and neutre one but it gaves commercials and advertisements to RRR Racing Forum, the 2nd most inactive forum.

Todo is to balance the Re-Volt information and to give pure information that a casual user can REALLY trust it. because, Mr Editors, RRR is only for registred members and who didn't touch it for a week will get inactive. activation requires 1~5 days and sometimes NEVER.

So, to do is, keep Re-Volt scene tidy by focusing on Re-Volt ALONE scene before focusing on the Re-Volt ONLINE scene and removing 'RRR-Racism' articles. ty regards

ps: look at Harry Potter Wiki and see how does cooperation look like

I'm disappointed... disappointed of this wiki and the people who are involved with it.

This wiki should be renamed to "RRR Racing forum wiki and not Re-Volt Wiki due to the lack of informations about Re-Volt and the excess of useless ads to RRR (and to my tools to be fair).

No matter how you look at the wiki, it's full of **** and not about Re-Volt, It's like RRR has the guts to own Re-Volt community while the List Of Board statistics shows how inactive is RRR, how active is ARM and the history shows that most of RRR topics were deleted meaning RRR's topics are duplicated and most of them are inexistant.

That's why I see (as many people from different people see) that the following suggestion should be taken seriously:

  1. Set other editors from different forums (trusted enough) to be co-admining this wiki
  2. Renaming the wiki so it would become RRR Racing Wiki and not Re-Volt the Wiki
  3. Balancing topics: Deleting old repeated stuffs and useless ads
  4. Allowing programs, media, topics and other stuffs of other forums to be co-dominating in a shared way with RRR

Hoping this would be taken seriously. Thanks for reading and best regards

Hello Kay,
I'm sorry you feel that way. The wiki is not an ORP, RRR, RVL, or any other wiki. It's editable by anyone, and everyone has equal rights. I have made several attempts to get other communities involvement with the wiki, but other than a few Re-Volt Live (Forum) members, no one even bothers to edit. I cannot be everywhere and know all the news, so I share what I do know from RRR forums on the news section. Anyone is free to promote events, news, websites, and material on ReVolt Wiki. There are some ground rules, I will not allow anyone to bash ORP or RRR on the wiki. All this does is further divide the community and cause relentless defacement of wiki and hateful defamation of character. So swearing, personal opinions without cited sources, and those sources which are deliberately hateful towards any other community will not be tolerated.

That being said, if you'd like to edit the wiki and tell others to please feel free to do so.
I do not feel there needs to be any 'co-admins' since the wiki is already wide open to anyone. The only thing an admin can do that a guest can't is move, delete, and protect pages. There are currently no administrators other than myself, I may choose to add a few administrators in the future but I do not feel they are needed at this time. Also, the ones which will be chosen are not those which express bias towards any community. Pages which members think need deleted can be discussed on talk pages.
The List of Board Statistics is for mere reference and should not be taken as a hostile war of power. While it may be fun to compete, let it not go to everyone's head that his/her board is the best. All forums have their own features and everyone is entitled to go to whichever one or all they choose.

Hello G4JC it has been a long time, how are you?
First of all, thanks for replying, that was quite gentle. Hoping I could see you somewhere in the chat it has been indeed a long time.
Second, people aren't actually willing to get involved because all they see in the wiki is "RRR". Talk/Discussion is indeed a great idea, I see it would be great to discuss the whole stuffs in different forums in a democratic way.
Third, thank you for balancing the wiki, it may look for others tiny changes, but myself, those "little changes" were actually *equilibrating* the wiki to become a real Re-Volt. That's why I would like to thank you again.
See you soon, best regards

Wiki needs cleaning[]

I really don't know where to start. This wiki is loaded with articles of pure bullsh*t, grammar-errors, redundant articles and many contradictions. I also see no need for modifications or custom tracks (except for Ali's home or other special custom tracks) to have an article.

I recommend deleting following articles (either they have nothing to do with re-volt or they are just not necessary or are utter bullsh*t):

Those tracks are nothing groundbreaking and so i recommend getting rid of these articles too.

I am still tidying up hoping to get a nice and clean wiki. How can't people editing the articles care about correctness and overall sense? Why do they add such superfluos articles? And why do they add articles about people (it's okay to write articles about Ali, Paul P, Nick Baynes, Shawn and so on. But if people finding theirselves interesting should register and fill in their profile page.)

I agree with the first part, everything except for RV-Remap (which needed a redirect rather than a deletion) was deleted for being random or out-dated stuff.
However, if there is a MOD that is actually finished I don't mind having articles on it. Custom tracks/cars are allowed too - it's all good for historical purposes. Would be interesting to have how they were made mentioned as well.
Regarding users, they should make their own accounts and userpages. They can setup redirects if needed.

Backdraft[]

Hello G4JC,

please ban backdraft permanently. He has had enough time to prove his stupidity.

"Later Im Stopping Ruin This Re-Volt Wiki And Im Going Start A Wiki"

Allan and I are just rolling back his edits.

Preset Edit Summaries[]

To further improve this wiki, I think it would be very ideal if we added preset edit summaries. That way, we do not have to type up the same edit summary every single time. It also unites the summaries into a proper standard, for example the wording of every edit is the same regardless of the user.

Now, I have already done a first revision of the Template:Stdsummaries template, but in order for this to be fully complete a code must be implemented into this wiki's Mediawiki:Common.js (which an admin can only do):

/* Pre-set Editing Summary */
importArticles({ type: 'script', articles: [
    'u:dev:Standard_Edit_Summary/code.js'
]});

More information is seen here

Any comments? Togehope (talk) 12:16, July 15, 2017 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, seems like I do not have permissions to edit the common.js. I'll try to contact the staff later, then we'll see if they can enable this feature for us.
AllanO1 (talk) 17:26, July 15, 2017 (UTC)
I should have known about JavaScript not being enabled here. I apologize for not letting you know earlier.
That would be the right thing to do, requesting for JS to be enabled via the FANDOM Community's contact page. Even if we do have JS enabled, any future edits to those go under a review process as far as I know.
Thank you for having a look at this. Any updates, just let me know! Togehope (talk) 18:12, July 15, 2017 (UTC)
Ok, I talked to them. JavaScript is now enabled.
I've placed the code in Mediawiki:Common.js and is now awaiting for a review.
Sorry for the delay.
AllanO1 (talk) 14:10, September 19, 2017 (UTC)
No worries. I was gone for a while lol, so the delay barely mattered.

Folder names of Acclaim Lego Set tracks and Standard tracks in the PlayStation version[]

I currently do not have the internal folder names of the tracks that are part of the Category:Acclaim Lego Sets. Does anybody know how to retrieve the names, or have a list of the folder names of the 20 Lego tracks?

In addition to this, does the folder names of the standard tracks in the PS1 port differ to that of the main PC version? Certainly if the folder names of the Cars differ, then it is an implication that the tracks should too... Togehope talk contributions 13:04, November 14, 2017 (UTC)

Hi!
I searched the files on my PC. According to the levels folder I have here, the folders inside are as follows:
  • BATT
  • BOT1
  • CRU1
  • CRU2
  • EDIT
  • FRON
  • MUS1
  • MUS2
  • NEI1
  • NEI2
  • STUN
  • SUP1
  • SUP2
  • TOY1
  • TOY2
  • WWW1
  • WWW2
These were the only ones I found. Not sure how the lego sets works; if they have unique folders or not. Unfortunately, I do not have the game files anymore. The only ones I could find were the cars and levels folders, so I'm not sure about what is in the other game folders.

Change site colors and header according to season[]

Since the site theme is based on Frontend, I think there could be some color variations as what happen with the menu borders in the game. The site colors and header image could change from season to season, giving some diversity instead of red/maroon all the time (btw, color chosen because of the game logo).

The elements that will change are the div borders of the main page, the header color and image, buttons and few other parts that uses the same color.

Bellow are my ideas for the screenshots of the header and the colors for each season:

  • Spring (March): screenshot at Botanical Garden or some backyard of Toys in the Hood 2; not sure what color use
  • Summer (June): screenshot at Ghost Town or Toytanic; red color (hex code: AF353B)
  • Fall (September): not sure which track, but the color can be yellow (hex code: E6C200)
  • Winter (December): screenshot at the freezer of SuperMarket 2; blue color (hex code: 2F3FB6)

Tell me what do you think about that, and feel free to give your suggestions.

Here are some sites for reference:
