FPS (Frames Per Second) is the refresh rate of the game. Generally more than 30 fps is enough to keep the game working flawlessly, below 30 fps the game starts lagging and feel interrupted.
Also to note that having 200 fps makes your game faster and weirder. Optimal (best) fps is 60 frame per second.
As the game is clocked to monitor refresh rate when run in fullscreen mode. Max fps can Re-Volt get is 60 fps for LED and LCD monitors. 75fps for CRT monitors (old monitors).
If you run Re-Volt in -window mode, you could get more fps as it's no longer attached to monitor refresh rate. 200 fps is easily recorded and people have recorded 600fps and 1000fps.
