Car selection screen
Talk0this wiki
The Car Selection Screen is a part of Re-Volt's Frontend menu. This screen allows the player to view the available vehicles that are selectable to be played on the many tracks in the game. The Car Selection Screen differs in the PlayStation version, with a menu consisting of three blocks which can be scrolled horizontally to view the rest of the vehicles, and in the DreamCast version, where more boxes are added to the existing boxes, shaping the stack to a form of a pyramid.
Car Selection
The cars can be scrolled and browsed through by using the directional commands (usually ↑ ↓ ← →, or for consoles, ▼ ▲ ► ◄) on the keyboard or standard gamepad. The controls may differ due to the different hardware connected to the computer or game console. When a car is selected (using the accelerate command), a preview is given of the car selected, with the box moving from its position to the floor, exposing and rendering the car into 3D. This car preview feature does not apply to the PlayStation port, for technical reasons. Once the car has been previewed, the Frontend menu shifts to the track selection. Cars must be obtained with the required method to unlock before being able to be selectable. Cars that are not intended to be accessible to the player or custom creations (PC only) are marked with a box style with the "Mystery" car as the front design of the box.
